Uniforms and Spirit Wear

Early Childhood Guidelines:

Our Early Childhood (EC) students (3s, 4s, and Transitional Kindergarten (TK)) are not required to wear a uniform but should arrive to school in comfortable play clothes that they can manage independently. Clothes should be washable and allow students to engage in an active classroom and outdoor play. Close-toed shoes or sneakers are recommended for our EC students.

Lower School Guidelines:

Elementary school uniforms promote equality and focus in the classroom by reducing social and economic disparities among students, fostering a unified school spirit, and simplifying daily routines for families. St. John’s students begin wearing comfortable, and functional uniforms in Kindergarten and continue with the tradition through fifth grade. Our daily uniforms include chinos (skirts, shorts, or pants), St. John’s polo shirts, and school sweatshirts. On special occasions such as picture days, field trips, and school performances, students will be required to wear their formal uniforms. The formal uniforms consist of plaid jumpers/skirts, button-down collared shirts, ties, and school sweaters. Our formal uniforms help to increase a sense of community and belonging throughout our school and represent our mission and gifts in the community.

Our uniforms are purchased through Lands’ End. More information about how to order Lower School (LS) uniforms can be found below.
