The St. John’s Fund

The St. John’s Giving Fund is our most important fundraising effort of the year because it provides SJPDS with unrestricted resources that are used where the need is greatest. In an effort to keep tuition increases to a minimum, gifts to the St. John’s Fund help to bridge the gap between student tuition and the actual yearly cost to educate each child. Not only do gifts to the St. John’s Fund advance the Mission of the School, but they will also help us realize all of our goals!

Grants contribute significantly to the financial needs of St. John’s Parish Day School. Competitive grants are awarded to schools with a high percentage of donor participation from school families, faculty, staff, and members of the Board of Trustees.

Our goal is to always have 100% donor participation in donating to the St. John’s Fund. Year after year, 100% of the SJPDS faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees members generously donate to the St. John’s Fund. We challenge every SJPDS family, alumni, and alumni family members to do the same! We gratefully celebrate the many everyday heroes who generously support the vision and mission of St. John’s Parish Day School!

There are many options for ways to donate to The St. John’s Fund. Individuals may donate a one-time sum online or by cash/check made out to St. John’s Parish Day School. Choosing to make a recurring gift and becoming a SJPDS GEM (Giving Every Month) Member is an option that makes it easy to give throughout the year. To learn more, please contact Gina West, Director of Development at gwest@stjohnspds.org .

Whether it is a one-time gift, a recurring gift, or a pledge to give, all gifts to the St. John’s Fund are needed and greatly appreciated!

Frankie the Therapy Dog on WMAR-2!

St. John’s Parish Day School was recently featured on WMAR 2 News in a special report highlighting our beloved therapy dog, Frankie.

Frankie is our three-legged pug mix who joined SJPDS alongside our Head of School, Mr. Springer. She was rescued from the streets of Los Angeles after being hit by a car, which resulted in the amputation of one of her front legs. Her journey is one of resilience, strength, and love.

Over the past year, Frankie has become an integral part of creating a safe, comforting, and joyful environment at SJPDS. Students visit her daily, bring her small gifts, and eagerly anticipate her classroom visits. Whether listening to a child read, sitting quietly during a moment of reflection, or simply offering her calm presence, Frankie brings a sense of peace and belonging to our campus.

Frankie may have three legs, but her physical difference has no impact on her speed, spirit, or ability to love. In fact, it has become a powerful lesson for our students. Through Frankie, they are learning that our differences make us beautiful and that every individual is worthy of love, dignity, and acceptance.
