Childcare Services

The Childcare Services Program is a Maryland State-licensed operation of St. John’s Parish Day School, that offers quality care and supervision for eligible* children, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM outside of the normal instructional school day.

The two cornerstones of the SJPDS Childcare exceed the staff-to-student ratio set by the State of Maryland.

Before Care is supervised care beginning at 7:00 AM for all St. John’s students.
After Care is supervised care beginning at 3:00 PM and ending at 6:00 PM for all St. John’s students.
Children receive safe care in a relaxed setting.
Children will participate in outdoor activities, games, homework (LS only), and more with friends in a safe and fun environment.

Childcare Service Plans for 2025-2026

In addition to the regular plans, all eligible* families may register for Childcare Services for noon-day dismissals. Please note, NOT ALL regular Childcare Services Plans cover childcare for noon-day dismissals.

Your family may also be eligible for “Early Childhood and Lower School Siblings Care (Complimentary Care)” which gives families the ability to drop off and pick-up their children at the same time. Only an Early Childhood sibling of a Lower School sibling may arrive after 8:15 a.m. for Before Care. The same child may stay as late as 3:30 p.m. for pick-up at no additional fee.

How to Enroll

Drop-in and Early Dismissal Care

DROP-IN CARE: Includes Before and/or Aftercare and is open to all eligible students* at St. John’s Parish Day School. The eligibility requirements for use of drop-in care and all plans include submission of all required paperwork (2024-25 Emergency Form, all pertinent Medical paperwork, as well as a completed Childcare Services Registration form). During the registration process, be sure to select “Plan 4: Drop-in” as the Childcare Services Plan. Families who have selected Plan 2: Beforecare or Plan 3: Aftercare may also drop into the other program.

For all drop-in care, we ask that families use the below “Monthly Childcare Drop-in Sign-up” link to register. We recommend that you bookmark this page.

Since we have limited availability in our programs, we restrict the sign-up to five spaces per day for each Beforecare and Aftercare. Dates are posted by month and updated near the end of the month. So that we ensure all families who need care have spaces, if you are signed up for a day that you no longer need, please be sure to remove those sign-ups.

EARLY DISMISSAL CARE: There are several planned early dismissal days over the course of the year that can be viewed by referring to the School’s Event Calendar.

We offer Early Dismissal Care for all but two days per year (12/20/24, 6/4/25). Early Dismissal Care is included for students of families who are registered for Plan 1: Full Time (Before and Aftercare) and open to all other families on a first-come, first-serve basis. Since we have a limited number of spaces in the program, an Early Dismissal Care sign-up sheet is available below. This form is updated within several weeks of the upcoming program, so please be sure to check back frequently.

Please note, even if your child(ren) attends Aftercare every day, but you are not registered for Plan 1: Full Time, you are required to use the Early Dismissal Sign-Up form to attend. The cost for Early Dismissal care is $50/use and limited in space.

To ensure that all families who need care are able to sign up, we ask that families who are automatically registered or have signed up for care but are planning not to use it, please remove your name from the list and/or inform me as soon as possible.
