Yesterday, a Howard County Police Department detective arrived at St. John’s Parish Day School to inform the school of the arrest of an assistant in the after-school program and Summer Camp, Jackie Wang, 18, for possession of child pornography. The detective informed the school that there is no indication that the alleged misconduct involved any member of the St. John’s Parish Day School community. The school immediately placed Mr. Wang on administrative leave and informed members of the St. John’s Community. The school has since learned that Mr. Wang has been charged by the Howard County State’s Attorney. Mr. Wang, who was hired in 2024, has been terminated and is no longer an employee of St. John’s Parish Day School. Mr. Wang successfully completed all pre-employment background checks and had no prior allegations of misconduct against him. Parents have been provided resources for speaking with their children and encouraged to report any suspected misconduct to law enforcement.
